Do Not Be Afraid!

[Isa 41:8-13 KJV] 8 But thou, Israel, [art] my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham my friend. 9 [Thou] whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, and called thee from the chief men thereof, and said unto thee, Thou [art] my servant; I have chosen thee, and not cast thee away. 10 Fear thou not; for I [am] with thee: be not dismayed; for I [am] thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. 11 Behold, all they that were incensed against thee shall be ashamed and confounded: they shall be as nothing; and they that strive with thee shall perish. 12 Thou shalt seek them, and shalt not find them, [even] them that contended with thee: they that war against thee shall be as nothing, and as a thing of nought. 13 For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.

Trials and difficulties of all types enter our lives. They can bring us to points of discouragement and despair. However, when you have relationship with God the Father through Jesus Christ all of that is changed!  We can stand on the promises of scripture from the Old Testament through the New Testament. As believers we have become God's adopted sons and daughters and all the promises are ours.

In time of distress, be it  personal attack by others or sickness in our physical bodies, the book of Isaiah gives us the words that bless us and build us up. the prophet tells us to not be afraid for God is with us. Through the prophet God declares "Fear thou not; for I [am] with thee: be not dismayed; for I [am] thy God:" Whatever the trial or difficulty we can stand on that promise. Our God is always there to strengthen and help us!

Right now here in the hospital Nancy and I know that He is with us. We are leaning on His strength and depending on His promises. Let me encourage you to do the same in your time of trial.

Keep Looking up!

Dan
