He Is Alive…

II Timothy 2:8 Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel:

What is it that makes the difference in the Bible and all the teachings and writings of all other religions? We are at the threshold of Easter Sunday or Resurrection Day.  It is on this day that we as believers celebrate the fact that unlike the leaders of all other religions who have died and remain in the grave, Jesus Christ the son of God, died and after 3 days was raised from the dead.

It is hard for some to accept such a miraculous happening, but it is the heart of the gospel message we preach from the Bible. The fact that Jesus is alive and at the right hand of His father in heaven is one of the most exciting parts of the gospel message. Because of Jesus resurrection, we have hope and we overcome the fear of death.  I Thessalonians 5:9-10 "For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him."  A living Christ has paid the price for our deliverance from the wrath of God and secured our place in eternity. Therefore we have no fear of death. Eternity is not a dark unknown chasm, but is the hope of heaven.  It is the place where we once again will be united with our heavenly father.

We rejoice because Jesus is Alive! This week we are celebrating His life and the price he paid that we might be free from sin and have eternal hope and joy unspeakable!  I Peter 1:6-8 "Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:"

Keep Looking Up,

Dan
