…I Have Seen Thy Tears…

II Kings 20:4-5 And it came to pass, afore Isaiah was gone out into the middle court, that the word of the LORD came to him, saying, Turn again, and tell Hezekiah the captain of my people, Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will heal thee: on the third day thou shalt go up unto the house of the LORD.

Hezekiah the King was sick and was told by the prophet Isaiah that he should get his house in order for he would not live but die. Hezekiah's response was to turn his face to the wall and prayed and wept. He reminded God of his faithfulness and obedience. Isaiah was still in the palace when God acknowledged Hezekiah's prayer. The command to Isaiah was that he should return to Hezekiah. Isaiah was to tell him that God had heard his prayers and seen his tears.

You may be in the place of praying through your tears today, because of the things you or a loved one are facing in your life. I thank God when we are in such circumstances that we have a God who sees our tears and hears our prayers. In our times of desperation God is always there. At moments we forget to call upon Him and we look for earthly deliverance. However, often earthly resources fail.

We need to learn to look to God as our resource. He never fails but is always listening and watching. If you have a desperation today, follow the example of the king. Hezekiah knew only God could deliver him from death. And God did respond to Hezekiah's prayer. II Kings 20: 6 tells us "And I will add unto thy days fifteen years…"  Only God can do that. and He will do it for you!  Call on Him and see His love and faithfulness unto you!

Keep Looking Up,

Dan
