Politics

Sigh Speaks Volumes

An elderly gentleman was sitting on a park bench, basking in the sun, when another elderly fellow sat down. They looked at each other for a moment but did not speak. Both men sat there, staring straight ahead. After a while, one of them heaved a big, heartfelt sigh. The other jumped up immediately and said, ‘If you’re going to talk politics, I’m leaving.          Bits & Pieces, June 24, 1993, p. 7

Not to much time this morning to harp on our nations current political state.  However, the humor above speaks to where we are.  We get up every morning hoping that the gridlock between our President and the Legislature will come to an end.  Then we can begin to get on with life.  If our major companies ran like the government, heads would be rolling and new leadership would be appointed.  However in our government it is the same old, same old.  So we all give a collective sigh and just choose to ignore something that we cannot change.  We unfortunately did not have the foresight to make changes in the last election so we have the government we deserve.

The questions have become not what party is ruling the roost but who we can trust.  So far both parties have laid an egg (hardboiled at that) and we as a nation are stalemated.  Well let us all give a collective sigh and get about our day.

Just venting a little frustration this morning!

Keep Looking Up!

Dan
