Respect The Name Of Jesus!

Philippians 2:5, 7-11 KJV – 5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:

7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:

8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:

10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of [things] in heaven, and [things] in earth, and [things] under the earth;

11 And [that] every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ [is] Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

The lack of respect for the name of Jesus is very evident in our society. The words of our text for today is in direct opposition to the attitude that many express. Jesus name is to be respected and held in high esteem. Our text for today declares in

Philippians2:9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:

As we approach the season of His birth it is a privilege to declare the name of Jesus is of supreme importance to us. He is the only way to find salvation. There is no other name that is the gateway to God the Father.

It does not matter what man says, one day every knee shall bow before Him. Again let us read:

10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of [things] in heaven, and [things] in earth, and [things] under the earth;

11 And [that] every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ [is] Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Give the name of Jesus the respect it deserves. He never fails us and men will respect Him as eternity unfolds before us.
