The Lord Is My Shepherd

Psa 23:1-6 KJV – 1 [[A Psalm of David.]] The LORD [is] my shepherd; I shall not want.

2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou [art] with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

With all the fear and turmoil in our nation I think that we need to hear a few words of comfort today. The 23rd Psalm is one of the most revered portions in scripture.

The Psalmist King David reminds us that we have a Lord who takes care of our needs. David declares that He is our Shepherd and that we shall not want.

As we read this Psalm we see the comfort and restoration that God brings to our lives.

Even when we are walking through dangerous places, God provides for us and takes away our fears. He is there to protect us and keep us.

Do not let the concerns of our world rob you of your joy during this Christmas season. God as David declares will be with us. We have the promise “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow us if we lean on our God”.

I love the last words of this Psalm, “I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever”.

God will take care of us now and forever more.

Keep Looking Up!
