Thy Will Be Done!

[Mat 26:42 KJV] 42 He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done.
[Luk 11:2 KJV] 2 And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.

The words of Jesus concerning His own desire to follow His Father's will and His teaching of the disciples concerning how they should pray are "thy will be done". Such should be the declaration of our lives as we pray! Whatever our goals in life, those goals need to line up with the will of our Father God.

As we face the plans we have for our lives, it is easy to go about our activities without having consulted God's wisdom. Even the chosen leaders of Israel failed when they did not seek God and His will.

Joshua and the Israelites made a covenant with the Gibeonites who were able to deceive them because they did not ask God to direct them.  [Jos 9:14-15 NKJV] 14 Then the men of Israel took some of their provisions; but they did not ask counsel of the LORD. 15 So Joshua made peace with them, and made a covenant with them to let them live; and the rulers of the congregation swore to them.]

We need to learn to pray as Jesus instructed, "Father, thy will be done", Even when we are facing trials and difficulties in our lives we need to pray not my will but thy will be done. That was the example of Jesus and needs to be the way we pray. When we seek the will of God He will never fail to lead us. Let us be faithful to do our best to follow the will of our Father God in all circumstances. We do not need to understand everything that happens to us, We just need to follow His will!

Keep Looking Up!
