He Was Crucified for You!

John 3:16-18 KJV – 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

This last Sunday was the beginning of the time when Christ would suffer that you and I might be free from the sins in our lives. It is known as Palm Sunday. It is the celebration of the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem. People proclaimed Him as the Messiah and expected that He would deliver them from Roman rule. They shouted Hosanna and gave Him praise.

However, the same people a few days later were calling for Him to be Crucified.

In the days of the week after the triumphant entry into Jerusalem, Jesus is taken before the magistrates and is condemned, beaten beyond recognition and finally Crucified.

The words of our scripture for today tells us why. Jesus was crucified to save us from our sins. God sent Jesus into the world that we might have a way to find forgiveness of sin. Jesus came that we might be able to have a relationship with God. He gave His life for you and me.

Let me encourage you to take advantage of Jesus sacrifice and ask Him to be your personal Savior. It is the most important action that you can take. Do it now!
