My God Is My Strength

Psalm 18:2 The LORD [is] my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, [and] my high tower.

Psalm 18:3 KJV – 3 I will call upon the LORD, [who is worthy] to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.

I am thankful that I have this declaration from the Bible. In the uncertain times in which we live we need to find our security in something that is beyond what the world can provide.

It is obvious that men and women try to find strength to live in the things that are around them. We see them depend on their employment, their fame, their wealth, etc. But none of those things bring peace and contentment.

They all fail as time passes by. The scripture declares:

Jas 4:13-14 NKJV – 13 Come now, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit

14 whereas you do not know what [will happen] tomorrow. For what [is] your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.

David in this 18th Psalm shows us where we must find our security.

He says the Lord is his rock. My God is my strength in Him will I trust.

If you put your trust in God, He will never fail you. You can depend on Him to be your fortress and deliverer as David declares.

There is much that creates fear in our society. However, God overcomes every fear and uncertainty as we put our lives in His hands.

Like David turn to God and let Him deliver you from the ills of our world.

Keep Looking Up!
