Stand In The Place of Blessing!

Rth 1:1  Now it came to pass in the days when the judges ruled, that there was a famine in the land. And a certain man of Bethlehemjudah went to sojourn in the country of Moab, he, and his wife, and his two sons.
Rth 1:2  And the name of the man was Elimelech, and the name of his wife Naomi, and the name of his two sons Mahlon and Chilion, Ephrathites of Bethlehemjudah. And they came into the country of Moab, and continued there.

They came into the country of Moab…  It is simple statement but one of great meaning to Elimelech and his family.  He had fled the famine in Bethlehem-Judah and gone into a land of idol worship  to satisfy the wants of his heart. It proved to be destructive for him and all of his family.  The Old Testament Book of Ruth contains one of the greatest stories of scripture.  However, the end of Elimelech is not the wonderful part  of the story.
Elimelech left the place of blessing trying to satisfy his own needs.  It is easy thing to do, but it cost him everything.  We need to learn to move only at God’s direction and not at the bidding of our own desires.  If you are facing a great stress, hold fast and wait for the blessing of God!  It will come in His time!

Keep Looking Up!
