The fruit of the Spirit is love…

Galations 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.

The word love flutters around in our society so much so that it has little meaning. However, In the Bible it is the central theme to our relationship with God. Mercifully God loves us even when we do not deserve to be loved!  Love expressed in our society is related to our circumstances. Hence people fall into love and they fall out of love. It is totally based on changing factors like appearance, convenience, fluctuating circumstances, money problems etc.

That is not so with the  love of God. He loves us unconditionally. It doesn't matter what your appearance maybe or how the rest of the world may think of you. God gives his love to you because He wants you to experience His person. He desires for you to come to Him so he can bless you and help you through all the circumstances of your life. His love unlike the love of the world around us is not based on our circumstances. He is not there one minute and gone the next. You can depend on Him to be there all the time.

Do you feel the need of being loved today? Do you feel used and thrown away by those you thought really loved you? Call on God and ask Him to fill the emptiness that is in your heart. He really will answer you and be with you when you feel rejected and alone. "Therefore know that the LORD your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments." Deuteronomy 7:9
